Remotejobify report · October 2026
Only 1 in 14 remote jobs is open to people in the UK
On 21 October 2026, 3,033 of the 42,778 remote jobs listed on Remotejobify (7%) were open to people in the UK. How we check.
Today we read 42,778 open remote jobs, straight from companies’ own job boards, and checked who each one is actually open to. For people in the UK, most “remote” jobs are out of reach.
What we found
- Only 7% of remote jobs are open to people in the UK. That’s 3,033 of 42,778.
- About 1 in 3 only hire in the United States. 16,807 jobs, plus 1,621 more open to the US and just one or two other countries.
- Many more hire in a single other country. 15,490 are open in one country that isn’t the UK or the US.
- “Work from anywhere” is rare. Only 371 jobs, about 1 in 115, are open to anyone, anywhere.
- 1,169 jobs are open only to people in the UK. The rest of the 3,033 name the UK alongside other countries, or a region that includes it, such as Europe or EMEA.
- Pay is mostly hidden. Only 543 of the 3,033 show a salary, 222 of them in pounds.
- Some roles are more open than others. About 12% of security jobs are open to the UK, and 10% of product jobs, but only 5% of finance and legal ones.
- 834 companies are hiring people in the UK remotely. 369 of these jobs were posted in the past week.
What it means if you’re job hunting in the UK
- Check who a job is open to before you apply. Look for “must be based in the US” or “authorised to work in the United States” in the description.
- A UK salary, a UK time zone or “EMEA” in the location are good signs.
- Or skip the checking: every job on Remotejobify has been read this way, and shows the line that proves it’s open to you.

How we counted
We read each job from the company’s own job board, including its location and description, and work out who it’s open to. A job counts as open to the UK if it names the UK, a region that includes it, like Europe or EMEA, or says you can work from anywhere. A job that doesn’t say counts as not open. These numbers are from today’s list, 21 October 2026, and change as jobs open and close.
