Role: Senior Data Engineer
Location: Hybrid, porto, Portugal
Required skills:
* 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering, with proven experience delivering real-time data products into production.
* Advanced hands-on experience with Apache Flink and Apache Kafka.
* Strong understanding of real-time streaming, event-driven architecture and distributed data processing.
* Proven experience designing and developing REST APIs, OpenAPI specifications and microservices.
* Strong practical experience with AWS data and cloud services, particularly MSK, Kinesis, Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS and S3.
* Experience implementing data quality frameworks, schema management and automated testing.
* Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI or GitHub Actions.
* Strong knowledge of monitoring, observability and performance optimisation tools, including CloudWatch, Prometheus and Grafana.
* Good understanding of cloud security, authentication, authorisation and data protection principles.
* Proven experience supporting and operating business-critical production data services.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and business stakeholders.
* Previous experience providing technical leadership, conducting code reviews and mentoring engineers.
