Solutions Engineer I

Key Responsibilities
* Support the pre-sales process by gathering customer requirements and helping identify appropriate technical solutions.
* Assist with customer discovery sessions to understand business needs, technical requirements, and potential solution opportunities.
* Prepare and deliver standard product demonstrations, with guidance on more complex customer scenarios.
* Support the development of technical proposals, RFP responses, and other sales materials.
* Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot demonstration environments to ensure successful customer presentations.
* Develop knowledge of PDI's POS solutions, payment processing capabilities, integrations, and related technologies.
* Partner with Sales and experienced Solutions Engineers to address customer questions and communicate product capabilities.
* Assist with documenting customer requirements, technical configurations, and proposed solutions.
* Collaborate with Product and Implementation teams to understand solution capabilities, limitations, and customer feedback.
* Contribute to internal documentation, demonstration scripts, and knowledge-sharing resources to support team effectiveness.

Qualifications
* 0–3 years of experience in technical pre-sales, solution consulting, technical support, systems engineering, or a related field.
* Foundational knowledge of POS systems, payment processing, software applications, or related technologies preferred.
* Basic understanding of system integrations, APIs, and technical troubleshooting.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to learn new technologies.
* Effective communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
* Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and support customer-facing activities.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Familiarity with CRM systems, demonstration environments, or technical documentation tools preferred.
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience preferred.
