Claims Specialist

Key Responsibilities

* Handle incoming claims and guide customers through the claims filing process
* Investigate, evaluate, process, and settle claims efficiently and accurately
* Communicate with customers, drivers, crew members, agencies, and internal teams regarding claims updates and resolutions
* Review bills of lading, inventory sheets, warehouse receipts, claim forms, and supporting documentation
* Determine liability, coverage, and settlement amounts based on company procedures and regulatory requirements
* Manage claims within Supermove and other online claims systems
* Coordinate inspections, repairs, and missing item investigations
* Draft release agreements and process settlement payouts
* Track and report claims activity, trends, and loss statistics
* Collaborate with Payroll and Accounting teams on chargebacks, credits, and settlement schedules
* Maintain compliance with DOT, FMCSA, military business rules, and company policies
* Assist in developing SOPs and improving claims processes

Qualifications

* Previous claims handling experience required
* Moving industry experience strongly preferred
* Strong customer service and communication skills
* Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
* High attention to detail and ability to process large amounts of information accurately
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
* Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
* Positive attitude and ability to adapt in a fast-changing environment
