Responsibilities
* Build and grow the core platform that automates tax preparation, owning backend design while also working on front-end integration.
* Design the backend systems and main workflows for the next major release of the product.
* Create and improve AI pipelines that read financial documents using OCR and LLMs, turning feedback from large accounting firms into dependable features.
* Make key backend design decisions independently, working directly with the CTO and Head of Engineering.

Requirements
* 2–6 years of software development experience with strong Python. TypeScript is a strong plus.
* Experience at a venture-backed, fast-growing startup (Seed to Series B). Candidates who have only worked long-term at large enterprises are less suited.
* A strong academic record, preferably a CS, Math, or Physics degree from a leading university.
* Based in the US and legally authorized to work there. No visa sponsorship available.
