Our work spans classification and compensation, organizational and operational studies, research and program evaluation, economic and workforce analysis, surveys and community research, and applied data and infrastructure research.
We engage experienced practitioners as project-based collaborators. Engagements are remote-first with occasional client travel. AlphaGov is engaging a Mass Appraisal & Property Assessment Consultant for current local-government work. Live pursuits include technical and training assistance for real property tax assessment and an evaluation of a large city's mass appraisal program.
We confirm scope, schedule, and fee with you before any engagement begins.
What you'll do
- Evaluate CAMA models, valuation methods, and ratio-study performance (IAAO standards)
- Provide technical assistance and training to assessors
- Review data quality, sales validation, and assessment administration
- Recommend process and system improvements
- Contribute qualifications and past-performance narrative to AlphaGov proposals when you authorize naming

Requirements
Required
- At least 5 years of professional experience in mass appraisal or real property assessment
- Working knowledge of IAAO standards and ratio studies
- Comfortable as a 1099 project-based consultant
Nice to have
- IAAO designation (CAE, RES, AAS)
- New York or Pennsylvania assessment experience
- Statistical modeling skills
