Japan Country Manager – Crypto Sports Betting & Online Casino
Location: Remote or office-based, depending on location
Remuneration: Competitive package + performance-based incentives
We are looking for an experienced Japan Country Manager to drive growth for an international crypto-focused sports betting and online casino brand.
This is a hands-on, commercially focused role with ownership of the Japanese market strategy, customer acquisition, VIP operations, retention and revenue growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Japanese gaming market, an established local network and a proven track record of acquiring and monetizing players.

Responsibilities:
* Own the Japan market strategy, commercial roadmap and P&L, with clear acquisition, revenue and profitability targets.
* Develop and scale customer acquisition channels, including affiliates, influencers/KOLs, streamers, communities, SEO, paid media and strategic partnerships.
* Build relationships and negotiate competitive CPA, revenue-share and hybrid deals with key local partners.
* Drive growth in FTDs, active players, GGR/NGR and LTV while optimizing acquisition costs and ROI.
* Oversee VIP operations, retention and reacquisition strategies, including reactivating dormant and high-value players.
* Work closely with CRM to improve conversion, retention and player lifetime value, ensuring promotions and VIP incentives deliver strong ROI.
* Define the brand's positioning for Japanese customers, ensuring campaigns, content and promotions are properly localized.
* Build and lead the local operation, recruiting talent as needed and collaborating with central marketing, product, payments, compliance and operations teams.
Requirements:
* Significant experience in Japan-facing online casino, sportsbook, crypto gaming or a closely related digital gaming business.
* Proven track record of scaling customer acquisition and generating revenue in the Japanese market.
* Experience managing VIP, retention and player reactivation strategies.
* Strong network across Japanese affiliates, influencers/KOLs, gaming communities and digital media.
* Deep understanding of Japanese player behaviour, acquisition channels and affiliate economics, including CPA, revenue share, CAC, LTV and churn.
* Experience managing acquisition budgets with clear ROI and profitability accountability.
* Native or near-native Japanese and strong English communication skills.
* Entrepreneurial mindset, strong commercial judgement and the ability to operate independently.
