Position: Video Editor

Number of hours: 10 hours/week

Schedule: CST

Tasks required:

* Manipulate and edit videos in a way that is invisible to the audience

* Take a brief to grasp clients needs and specifications

* Review shooting script and raw material to create a shot decision list based on scenes’ value and contribution to continuity

* Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the film

* Input music, dialogues, graphics and effects

* Create rough and final cuts

* Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running

* Consult with stakeholders from production to post-production process

* Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry’s best practices to maximize efficiency

* Other ad hoc tasks that would be assigned

Requirements:

* Proven work experience as a Video Editor is required

* Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g. Lightworks, Premiere, After Effects or Final Cut)

* Deep understanding of digital trends and editing principles as well as effective social media video formatting and composition

* Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation and continuity

* Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio

* Ability to multitask and perform under tight deadlines

* Exhibit strong work ethic and initiative

* Clear and concise communicator with effective verbal and written communication skills

* Self-disciplined and organized; able to consistently hit daily and monthly targets with limited supervision
