Job Description:
Ironside is looking for an experienced Commercial Lines Account Manager to support a growing book of Mid-Market commercial clients. This role is ideal for someone who knows commercial insurance, takes pride in accurate service work, and wants to grow within a fast-moving agency with a strong reputation and a great culture.
The ideal candidate is hardworking, proactive, detail-oriented, and willing to take on challenging assignments. We value someone who takes ownership, follows through, asks thoughtful questions, and brings solutions. A willingness to learn is essential, with opportunities to develop new business experience, participate in client and carrier meetings, and work on more complex accounts.
While this role is available as a fully remote, work from home position, we are only considering candidates living in the following states: Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Maine. Occasional travel to our Boston, MA may be required.
Core Responsibilities:
* Manage day-to-day service for an assigned commercial book, including client questions, policy changes, certificates, endorsements, audits, billing issues, and general account support.
* Take ownership of renewal workflows by gathering updated information, preparing applications, reviewing renewal terms, tracking deadlines, and keeping producers and clients informed.
* Review policies, endorsements, proposals, binders, applications, and carrier documents for accuracy, identifying discrepancies and following through on corrections.
* Support remarketing and new business opportunities by organizing submissions, exposure data, carrier correspondence, and proposal information while learning the marketing and placement process.
* Participate in client, carrier, and wholesaler meetings, assist with preparation, and follow through on action items.
* Anticipate account needs, follow up on outstanding information, and flag issues early with recommended next steps.
* Take on challenging assignments and increasingly complex account work with guidance from the team.
* Communicate professionally with clients, carriers, producers, and internal team members.
* Maintain clear, complete account documentation, and help improve workflows as the agency continues to grow.
Required Skills:
* At least two years of direct experience as a Middle-Market Commercial Lines Account Manager in an independent agency environment.
* Property & Casualty license required.
* Experience quoting and servicing Massachusetts commercial risks.
* Strong knowledge of property, general liability, commercial auto, umbrella/excess, workers’ compensation, and related coverages.
* Strong work ethic, personal accountability, and a proactive approach to completing assignments.
* Close attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines without sacrificing accuracy.
* Willingness to learn, accept feedback, research unfamiliar questions, and take on challenging tasks.
* Clear communication skills, a client-first mindset, and comfort participating in client and carrier discussions.
* Experience supporting larger or more complex commercial accounts preferred.
* Experience with real estate, construction, advanced industries, life sciences, and nonprofits is a plus.
Benefits:
At Ironside Insurance Group, our Total Rewards Package consists of:
* Competitive compensation package to include:
* Base salary
* Performance-based increases and bonus opportunities
* 401k with up to a 4% company match (after 90 days)
* Comprehensive health, dental and vision benefits with company contributions for both employees and their dependents
* Group life insurance, short and long-term disability as well as accidental death insurance fully paid by Ironside
* Generous flexible time off plan as well as paid holidays
* Parental leave
* Remote work environment, with necessary equipment to help create your ideal workspace
