What We Are Looking For:

Airlock Digital is a growing, private equity-backed cybersecurity software business with expanding international operations. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the Group Finance Manager will take ownership of delivering an accurate, timely month-end close and effective day-to-day finance operations across the group on a 12 month fixed term contract.

This hands-on role combines technical accounting, practical problem-solving and team leadership. You will manage AP and AR, guide the Financial Accountant’s close activities and deliver reliable financial information that supports business decisions. During this maternity cover assignment, you will also contribute to ERP implementation and agreed process improvements, helping strengthen how finance operates as Airlock scales.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial reporting and month-end close

* Manage the general ledger and month-end close across AU, US and other entities as established, completing the close by business day 5.
* Prepare journals and review and post journals prepared by others, ensuring complete accruals, appropriate coding and accurate accounting treatment.
* Prepare revenue recognition calculations, deferred revenue reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany reconciliations.
* Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting and provide entity reporting and supporting inputs for group reporting.
* Support group consolidation processes as introduced following ERP implementation.
* Review financial results, investigate variances and provide clear commentary on key movements.
* Coordinate AP, AR and other close inputs, resolving issues and escalating dependencies early.

Finance operations and cash flow

* Oversee global billing, collections, accounts payable, employee expenses and corporate card processes.
* Review payment runs for accuracy, supporting documentation and required approvals before submission to authorised bank approvers.
* Monitor outstanding receivables and payables, ensuring timely follow-up.
* Maintain cash flow forecasts and support the Group Financial Controller in managing liquidity and payment priorities.
* Ensure transactional processes are accurate, efficient and supported by clear ownership and service expectations.

Payroll and commissions

* Review payroll calculations and supporting inputs, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.
* Prepare commission calculations in accordance with approved incentive plans and reconcile amounts to supporting data.
* Submit commission calculations to the Group Financial Controller for review and approval before inclusion in payroll.
* Coordinate approved commission amounts for payroll processing and maintain supporting calculation records.

Compliance audit and controls

* Support the Global Audit, Tax and Compliance Manager with tax and statutory compliance requirements across relevant entities.
* Prepare reconciliations, supporting schedules and responses to internal and external audit queries.
* Maintain effective financial controls, including approval workflows, payment controls and appropriate segregation of duties.
* Ensure accounting records and supporting documentation are complete and maintained in accordance with applicable standards and company policies.

Budgeting and forecasting

* Support annual budgeting, financial forecasting and relevant business analysis.
* Monitor performance against budget and investigate significant variances.
* Provide financial analysis and support for ad hoc projects and business decisions.

Finance systems and process improvement

* Support the maintenance and improvement of finance system configurations, workflows and integrations.
* Identify and implement agreed improvements to billing, payment, reconciliation and reporting processes.
* Support ERP and other finance system implementations, including process mapping, data validation, testing and rollout activities.
* Work with IT, People and Culture, and other stakeholders to resolve system issues and improve data flows.
* Maintain the integrity of customer, vendor and financial master data, including consistent chart of accounts and departmental coding.
* Develop and maintain finance process documentation and controls.

Team leadership and stakeholder support

* Manage and support the Senior AR Officer and Senior AP Officer, setting clear priorities and reviewing workload and performance.
* Provide guidance and review of the Financial Accountant’s month-end related work, coordinating priorities and supporting development in conjunction with their line manager.
* Ensure adequate coverage across critical finance activities and provide hands-on support where required.
* Maintain clear communication with internal stakeholders on billing, expenses, payments and finance requirements.
* Maintain current process documentation to support continuity and an effective handover.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

* A proven track record of personally delivering and coordinating accurate month-end closes to tight deadlines in a multi-entity environment, including revenue recognition, intercompany accounting and robust balance sheet reconciliations.
* Experience overseeing AP and AR operations and managing finance team members.
* Experience reviewing payroll and preparing commission or incentive calculations.
* Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in accounting and finance systems; experience with Xero and Maxio highly desirable.
* Practical experience improving finance processes and supporting system implementations.
* SaaS or technology company experience highly regarded.
* Strong ownership, analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills, with practical judgement to resolve accounting issues independently, review work critically, coordinate competing priorities and escalate dependencies early. Comfortable providing hands-on support when required.
