Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney based in Western Pennsylvania. This role is ideal for a self-directed attorney with substantial insurance defense experience who can independently manage high-value and complex litigation matters with minimal supervision.
The attorney will work remotely and contribute to the firm's regional presence, professional relationships, and continued growth throughout Western Pennsylvania.

Practice Areas
Insurance Defense | Complex Casualty Litigation | Large Loss | General Liability
Key Responsibilities
* Independently manage insurance defense matters from inception through resolution, including high-value and complex litigation.
* Develop case strategies and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery documents.
* Conduct and defend depositions.
* Handle court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, settlement conferences, and trial preparation.
* Take ownership of significant litigation matters with minimal supervision.
* Maintain strong relationships with insurance carriers, claims professionals, self-insured entities, and corporate clients.
* Build regional professional relationships and contribute to the growth of the insurance defense practice throughout Western Pennsylvania.
Education and Experience Requirements
Required Qualifications
* Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
* Active Pennsylvania law license.
* Substantial insurance defense litigation experience.
* Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex matters.
* Experience handling high-value litigation.
* Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience handling large-loss or high-exposure insurance defense matters.
* Trial experience and significant deposition experience.
* Experience representing insurance carriers or self-insured entities.
* Experience in general liability, automobile liability, premises liability, or trucking and transportation litigation.
* Established relationships with regional insurance carriers, claims professionals, or corporate clients.
* Business development experience or a portable book of business.
* Familiarity with the Western Pennsylvania legal market and an established professional network.
* An entrepreneurial approach to practice growth.
Work Environment
* Fully remote position.
* Experienced attorneys, small established practices, or attorney teams with portable business may also be considered.
