Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.

Who The Client Is: Our client is an Australian consulting business that helps product-based companies understand and manage complex regulatory requirements across local and international markets. They work with businesses in highly regulated sectors, including cosmetics, personal care, food, and complementary medicines, supporting them with product compliance, ingredient and label reviews, market entry requirements, and ongoing regulatory guidance. Their work helps clients reduce compliance risk, prepare products for launch, and navigate the requirements involved in selling products in Australia and overseas.

Role Overview: Our client is looking for a technically capable Business Process & AI Automation Specialist who can independently design, develop, implement, and optimise automation solutions across the business.

This role goes beyond using AI tools for general business tasks. The successful candidate should have demonstrated hands-on experience building practical automation solutions involving large datasets, spreadsheets, databases, APIs, AI integrations, and workflow automation platforms.

You will work closely with stakeholders to understand existing processes, identify inefficiencies, design improved workflows, and independently build and implement solutions that improve accuracy, efficiency, data management, and overall business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

* Review existing business processes and identify opportunities for automation, optimisation, and continuous improvement.
* Independently design, develop, implement, and maintain AI-enabled and workflow automation solutions.
* Build automations involving large datasets, Excel or spreadsheet-based processes, databases, APIs, and multiple business systems.
* Develop and optimise spreadsheet workflows for data processing, validation, reporting, reconciliation, data organisation, and repetitive tasks.
* Integrate databases, spreadsheets, CRMs, internal systems, and third-party platforms to improve data flow and reduce manual work.
* Build workflows using platforms such as Microsoft Power Automate, n8n, Make, Zapier, or similar automation tools.
* Use JavaScript, Python, or similar scripting languages where required to extend automation functionality or manage more complex processes.
* Develop practical AI integrations for data processing, document preparation, reporting, analysis, and other operational workflows.
* Test, troubleshoot, monitor, and optimise automation workflows to ensure reliability, accuracy, and ongoing performance.
* Manage and maintain databases, trackers, registers, spreadsheets, and internal records.
* Map current and proposed workflows and document technical and business requirements.
* Develop, update, and standardise SOPs, templates, workflow documentation, implementation guides, and internal process documentation.
* Manage templates, document formatting, and document standardisation across the business.
* Provide executive assistant-style support to leadership where required, including organising information, tracking action items, preparing documentation, and improving administrative workflows.
* Support AI-assisted document preparation and reporting.
* Maintain internal knowledge bases and ensure process documentation remains accurate and up to date.
* Monitor implemented solutions and identify opportunities for further process improvement and automation.
* Provide clear updates on project progress, issues, blockers, timelines, and outcomes.
* Support departments with the adoption of new AI and automation solutions, including training and guidance where required.

Requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications:

* At least 3 years of relevant hands-on experience in AI automation, workflow automation, systems integration, business process automation, or a similar technical role.
* Demonstrated experience independently designing, developing, and implementing automation solutions, rather than primarily using existing AI tools for general business activities.
* Strong hands-on experience with automation platforms such as Microsoft Power Automate, n8n, Make, Zapier, or similar.
* Practical knowledge of JavaScript, Python, or comparable scripting/programming languages used in automation and data processing.
* Strong experience working with Excel or similar spreadsheet tools, including automation, data manipulation, validation, reporting, processing, and optimisation.
* Experience working with large or complex datasets.
* Hands-on experience with database management and database integrations.
* Experience integrating different systems using APIs, webhooks, or similar methods.
* Practical experience incorporating AI into business or operational workflows.
* Strong understanding of workflow logic, process mapping, business process analysis, and continuous process improvement.
* Experience testing, troubleshooting, monitoring, and maintaining automations after implementation.
* Experience managing databases, trackers, registers, spreadsheets, and internal records with a high level of accuracy.
* Strong documentation skills, including SOPs, workflow diagrams, technical notes, templates, process documentation, and knowledge-base content.
* Experience supporting documentation, reporting, action tracking, and administrative workflows for leadership or internal teams.
* Strong attention to detail, organisation, and data accuracy.
* Ability to work independently from requirements gathering through to implementation, documentation, training, and handover.
* Ability to follow instructions, manage agreed deadlines, and communicate risks, blockers, or changes early.
* Strong written English communication skills.
* Reliable and comfortable working independently in a remote environment.

Work Arrangement & Expectations:

This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.

To ensure alignment and transparency, successful candidates will be expected to:

* Disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work
* Reflect this engagement on their LinkedIn profile (clearly marked as “Independent Contractor”)
